Bolesławiec Pottery Festival
Bolesławiec Pottery Festival

The Bolesławiec Pottery Festival is one of the largest events in Poland and Europe dedicated to traditional Bolesławiec ceramics. Every year in August, the town transforms into a massive fair, workshop and artistic stage.

At the heart of the festival is the ceramic fair — hundreds of stalls with handmade pottery from both large factories and small workshops. Bolesławiec has been famous since the 18th century for its stoneware production — characteristic white ceramics with cobalt blue stamps, known for their durability and everyday use. During the festival, products can be purchased at 30–50% less than regular retail prices.

The festival features pottery workshops and wheel throwing — everyone can try shaping a vessel themselves. There are also stamp decoration demonstrations, offering insight into the art of creating the famous cobalt blue patterns.

The programme also includes ceramic parades and happenings, concerts and outdoor events, as well as family zones with children's activities. It's a celebration for the whole family, combining craft tradition with entertainment.

The festival takes place in the centre of Bolesławiec — on the Market Square, around the town hall and old town, and on adjacent streets near the Bolesławiec Cultural Centre. The market square hosts the ceramic stalls, concert stage and workshops. The event usually lasts 4–5 days in the second half of August.
