Re:tradition — Jagiellonian Fair is an annual summer festival held in Lublin's Old Town and Castle Meadows, usually in the second half of August. It is one of the largest events in Poland dedicated to tradition, folk crafts, culture and music.
The Jagiellonian Fair is a folk art and traditional crafts market featuring artists and artisans not only from Poland but also from Lithuania, Ukraine, Hungary, Romania, the Czech Republic and India. It's not just about selling goods — it's about meeting craftspeople, hearing stories of family and regional traditions, and attending inspiring workshops. The latest edition featured around 90 craft stalls with over 120 folk artists and creators.
The festival is much more than a craft market. The programme includes folk art fairs with handcraft, ceramics, textiles, woodwork and jewellery, as well as craft workshops — basketry, paper cutting and ornament making. There are also concerts of traditional folk music and modern arrangements inspired by folklore.
The festival programme also features traditional dance parties inspired by old-time music, film screenings, exhibitions, discussions and artistic performances. The event is accompanied by regional delicacies and culinary inspirations — local food and traditional products available throughout the festival grounds.
The festival traditionally takes place over three days in August in Lublin's Old Town and Castle Meadows.
