The history of the International Folk Art Fair (Międzynarodowe Targi Sztuki Ludowej) goes back to 1973, when the first All-Poland Folk Art Fair took place. The event grew out of the work of Cepelia and the community of folk and artistic craft cooperatives. Since the 1970s, with a break of a few years, the fair has filled Kraków's Main Market Square every August.
Here you can meet makers who are keepers of intangible heritage: Kraków bobbin lace, tatting and crochet lace, toy making, braiding, pottery, embroidery and Łowicz paper cut-outs. The jubilee 50th edition ran from 8 to 23 August 2026 and invited around 120 exhibitors. An important part of it was a workshop zone with classes and demonstrations led by craftspeople.
