Targ Pietruszkowy is a community initiative that has been running in Kraków since 2013. Its principles are simple: local, natural and direct. Sellers come from no further than 150 km from Kraków, and behind the stalls stand farmers and producers who grow and make what they sell themselves. There are no traders or wholesalers here.
Since 2018 the market has belonged to the Earth Market network run under the patronage of Slow Food, and it is the network's only member in Poland. The tables are filled with natural, unprocessed and seasonal food from small family farms that work without artificial fertilisers or crop protection chemicals.
