wielonki
The name wielonki was born in a child's imagination, from a pyjama set printed with fawns from the film 'Bambi', where two Polish words merged into one. Twenty years later the word still matters, because it holds the kind of curiosity the founder of wielonki never wanted to lose. After a design diploma and years of graphic commissions, she went looking for good-quality headwear in the colours and shapes she liked, and when she couldn't find it, she decided to make it herself. The brand wasn't created for the sake of creating a brand; it emerged naturally from solving that one problem.
Help came from her grandmother, who had knitted and crocheted since childhood. She gave the first spark and passed on her curiosity for craft. Although she died before she could hand down all her considerable knowledge, the founder did not give up and kept exploring the knitting workshop on her own. Knitting wasn't always passed down from generation to generation in the family: her mother learned to crochet on her own, already as an adult, while her grandmother learned to knit as a child, from her own father. The grandmother's mother, the founder's great-grandmother, was a seamstress who, as family stories go, sewed clothes for actresses in Warsaw, among them Ina Benita. The founder wanted to uncover and write down that story, but sadly she never managed to.
That is how the first little hoods and hats came about, and later further experiments with forms, fibres, colours and dyeing. Today she does practically everything in wielonki: she designs the products, makes them, runs the social media and answers customers. Most hours of each day go into knitting and crochet, because this work calls for consistency, patience and a precise yarn tension that is unique to every person. She works mostly made to order, knitting exactly what has just been ordered so she avoids overproduction, and from leftover yarn she creates unique, colourful pieces. What matters most to her are colour compositions that reach beyond today's dominant greys, natural fibres, and a work ethic: she does not outsource to sewing rooms, does not import products from abroad, and each piece is made between her two hands. While she creates, she feels an inner calm.

Scrunchie
Crocheted yarn clouds that not only tie up your hair but also visually add volume and bring a splash of colour to the whole outfit. Available in many versions - single-colour and multi-colour - while the Scrunchie BEZY come in three sizes.
Little hoods
The oldest product of wielonki, which has evolved over the years and is still gladly chosen. Knitted on needles, they sit softly against the face and keep out the cold. Beyond the classic mohair, alpaca and merino versions, there are also warmer hoods with ties and patterned variants such as the Fly Agaric hood and the Strawberry hood.
Bonnets
A charming accessory that joins the function of a hat and a small scarf. The bonnets are made from both thinner and thicker yarn, yet all of them feel pleasant against the skin. Several patterns already exist, and the newest one - made on a home knitting machine - is still being refined.“Carefully crafted between two hands.”
